The Obsession with Pinterest

If you are like me, Pinterest is an addiction. I spend countless hours (while my husband Tom is fast asleep beside me) looking at beautiful pictures and pinning them to my boards. I have more recipes pinned than I could ever possibly make! The fact of the matter is, that I probably have only made 1 or 2 of them. What about the “How To” craft pins? I am known for purchasing the items needed for those stunning wreaths or yarn to knit a cute scarf and it all gets put aside. Forgotten until another new pin entices me to jump back on the pinterest-go-round. Still, pinning continues because these images represent everything dreamt about doing in spare time. Spare time?? that is actually the real dream isn’t it!

The Success of Pins

Some of my home idea boards do inspire me because we (I really mean that I do) like to redecorate/remodel at least bi-yearly.  Tom has often said that “Pinterest is the devil” because once I get an image in my head, there is no turning back.  He gets immediately sucked in to my new and exciting plans. Most of the time, he is a great and willing participant. Other times, it takes a lot of bargaining to get him to complete the tasks that I NEED! Regardless of what it takes, it is well worth it when we get to sit back and enjoy the rewards from all of the hard work.

I have had  Pinterest successes and fails alike. Each of these attempts at completing what seems to be simple from the pins, are often not the results promised in those perfect images. Sometimes, it is easier and safer to never admit that the idea came from a pin; just pass it off as if you were aiming for the result. This is along the lines of “Fake it till you make it” but now I have the bright idea to “Make it or Break it”.

Pinterest Ideas for Me to Try

I thought it would be fun, in the process of reinventing and growing, that I make an effort to experiment with more pins. Total honesty and transparency; struggles or ease – all will be revealed. I would love if you would help me to accomplish this. I am not going to start digging through my boards. Instead, I would like you all to give me options to try from your own Pinterest account or you can sift through my boards to pick something out.  Please use the button below to forward your suggestions to me. You can choose from recipes, crafts, organization ideas, decorating ideas – the possibilities are endless but hopefully not too scary! Then once a month, I will choose one and feature it on my blog. I will give you a step-by-step commentary of the process along with lots of pictures! If I ever get brave enough, I will give you a video feed too.  So gather those pins girls and start sharing – there are many more stories to be made!
